The Face Behind BLESCD
BLESCD is far more than just a dog brand.
Everything you see from the first sketch to the packaging, from the HTML behind the webshop to the final production comes to life thanks to Chandima. She is the founder and creative mind behind the brand, and her passion for dogs and design is reflected in every detail.
Having grown up with dogs from a young age, she understands better than anyone what a dog truly needs: love, structure, nutrition, play, and most of all a sense of belonging within a family. That sense of connection is the foundation of her work: with playful and educational children’s books that teach young families about care, love, and responsibility.
Her Dutch parents are an essential part of her story. They have always stood by her side, offering unconditional love and support making sure she had everything she needed to follow her heart and turn her dreams into reality.
BLESCD doesn’t stop at pet products.
Chandima also runs her own publishing house, where she pours the same dedication into creating children’s books and cookbooks. Every book, like every product, tells a story loving crafted with purpose and heart.
Her two American Akitas, Bing & Diamond, are more than mascots.
They are family.The inspiration behind her products, her illustrations, and her life mission. Their connection to people is deep and intuitive they feel what words cannot express.
🌍 Two Worlds One Story
Chandima was born in Sri Lanka, and as a baby was adopted by her Dutch parents.
Her biological parents made the hardest choice out of love: to give her away so she could have opportunities they could never provide.
A sacrifice born from pure love.
She grew up between two worlds her roots and her upbringing, her origin and her future. That internal duality found peace when she was reunited with her family in Sri Lanka through the Dutch television program Spoorloos. The meeting with her birth parents and sisters was intense, magical, and healing.
Her sisters from Sri Lanka filled a deep emotional gap.
Her Dutch brothers, Ramon and Camiel, are her anchor her foundation, her support, her home.Together, they form the irreplaceable links in her life.
🌍 Global Wisdom
Chandima and her partner have lived in several countries, among the local population.
Why did they choose to live truly among the people?Because you only really understand how people live when you live like they do. Not as tourists, but as part of the community seeing, feeling, experiencing. That’s how you truly learn about a culture, a community, and their challenges.
Sweden Surrounded by huskies and sled dogs, she learned everything about active dog nutrition, pack behavior, and the harmony between animal and nature.
Bulgaria They lived among the Roma community, who welcomed them with open arms. Life there often felt like stepping 50 years back in time, yet the warmth, simplicity, and hospitality of the people left a deep mark. The street dogs moved her profoundly their struggle, their eyes, their wordless stories.
Experience in Everything From Idea to Product
Chandima combines creativity, technical skill, and experience in a way that is truly unique. Thanks to her studies and career, she knows exactly how to build a brand from scratch:
- Sports Education – Insight into the body, movement, and discipline (even for animals).
- Graphic Design & Web Development – Mastery of HTML, visual design, and structural thinking.
- Fashion & E-commerce – Worked with brands like H&M, ZARA, and Zooplus, learning customer focus, trend forecasting, color psychology, and product development.
- Hospitality & Culinary Experience – Worked in renowned Dutch restaurants. Her love for cooking is now being translated into her upcoming dog cookbook.
- Children’s Education She transforms her knowledge into playful books with a message of love, care, and responsibility.
Everything you see from the webshop to the clothing line, from packaging to animations is created by her, by hand and heart.
